truepenny | Where are we going, and what am I doing in this handbasket?

I was going to write a nice contemplative post about my various projects and what I need to be doing and maybe even why I'm not actually doing it ... when I remembered that my editor had said something about an author photo.

Went back in my email, found the relevant message, and yes, yes, indeed. Ace wants a photo and I made some blithe promise (back in July) of getting one by mid-September.

The problem is that I haven't had any serious photographs taken of me since my wedding, and I look nothing like myself in those photos since I'm (a.) wearing a lacy off-the-shoulder dress and (b.) not wearing my glasses. (Also (c.) there are flowers in my hair.)

dd_b took some lovely pictures last year, but those are really about

elisem's necklaces, not me. (Again, I'm not wearing my glasses, and

papersky has professed the belief that it's actually a waxwork of me.) And my other options are bad candid photos (I don't photograph well), with or without cats.

So I have to find a photographer. And one who will understand wanting a portrait without wanting a "glamor shot." And who will not try to convince me to take my glasses off. And who can do this damn thing soon.
