omg I am so not kidding.

I just got back from the post office, whence I lobbed five turnips. (The mental image works better if you imagine the turnip-scale trebuchet on top of the WPA-era post office. [ETA: actually, no. The mental image works best if you imagine a full-size trebuchet lobbing turnips off the top of the WPA-era post office.]) Two of them are stories in this meme, and a third is a sequel to one of the two.

For those of you keeping score at home, that makes four stories finished in the wake of doing that meme: "Under the Beansidhe's Pillow," "The Clockwork Pianist," "Blue Lace Agate" (formerly "The Ghoul Hunters"), and "Listening to Bone" (which appears in the meme as untitled Kyle Murchison Booth story). And I couldn't have written "A Night in Electric Squidland" (and "Under Babylon," which I'm working on now, and which is the third story in the sequence) at all if I hadn't finished "Blue Lace Agate" first.

That is a hell of a lot of return for one silly meme.

DUDE!

Didn't do anything for me, alas. I'm still plugging away on a single anthology story.

Kick ass!

I've finished two stories in 11 days in the wake of meme, which for me is pretty darn good. If I can get a third done by the end October I'll be happy.

Oh, and I like BLA and Squidland rather a lot, but don't have coherent critsy thoughts prepared yet.

Wow, the power of the meme. Who woulda thought? But that's great for you. And it was a great meme.

::grins:: yes, it made me think about short stories, although I think I only put one short story into the meme mix. But it also caused ructions in the novels... so the jury's out on whether it'll have done any good.

But I did get a bunch of fun reading out of other people :o)

I know. I wrote 4 new stories this month. It's freaky. Freaktastic, even. What's wrong with me?
