For the record, I completely agree that what Ellison did was utterly inappropriate, and he deserves to be thoroughly admonished for what he did. He crossed the line.
Am I surprised, though? Sadly, no. I've seen Ellison in action, and I know that people who behave like that generally think lines are meant to be crossed.
Although, that's right up there with the mystery author that thought it would be funny to sign my boob. This while I was volunteering at a booksigning at a friend's store. I'm sure he (the author) thought it was amusing. Like HRM, I was not amused.
