I feel this terrible need to be scintillating.

However, in lieu of that, I want to say that jess79 rocks beyond the ability of mere words to express. Thanks for the LJ code. (And also thanks to heres_luck for stumping on my behalf.)

I'm still working out what exactly it is I'm going to use this thing for. Starting a journal (paper, electronic, private, public) is one of those liminal moments that begs for melodramatic gestures and rash promises--which are, of course, hideously embarrassing when reread in cold blood. But there are some things I want to articulate for myself about what I'm doing here. When I'm feeling a little less melodramatic, I'll post them.

oh no! is that what Here's Luck is expecting when she invites people to join her and her wacky crew on LJ? If so, I'm seriously (and I fear irreparably) lacking... Or maybe I can just let you, as the new convert, take over on the scintillation duties? *wink* anyway, welcome aboard [says the darn-near-newbie]! Do I have a crew? What an amusing thought! But for the record, I didn't invite Truepenny; she capitulated to the lure of LJ all on her own, with very little (if any) nudging from me. I didn't need to bug her about LJ; I've got near-perpetual access, like when the computer's off and everything.

In any case, I'm the one who got lured onto LJ with the prospect of having a platform from which to hold forth about the finer points of laundry and salsa. I hardly think the expectation of scintillation would be fair.
