PSA: Foucault & Prine

For people who are fans of John Prine and/or Jeffrey Foucault: Jeff's album of Prine covers, Shoot the Moon Right Between the Eyes, is available for pre-order now and will be out February 17.

And if you're not sure if you're a Prine and/or Foucault fan, there are three songs from the album you can download for free: "Billy the Bum," "The Late John Garfield Blues," and "Storm Windows" (the last of which I have a great deal of trouble not just putting on repeat for like, an hour or two).

PSA: rengeek division

It occurred to me that some of y'all might (a.) not know about this and (b.) like to know about this. Namely that Naxos has a recording of a number of Thomas Campion's lute songs. ([livejournal.com profile] matociquala is talking about Campion this morning, which is what made me think of it.) Along with lots of other very cool stuff: I also have their recording of John Dowland's lute songs and some other early music--and then there's the whole rest of their catalogue.

If you're going to order, I recommend ArkivMusic rather than Amazon, because ArkivMusic gives you the lovely lovely Naxos prices. Amazon inflates.
