truepenny: artist's rendering of Sidneyia inexpectans (ws: hamlet)
My spies, a.k.a. [livejournal.com profile] mirrorthaw, tell me that "Coyote Gets His Own Back" came in second in Apex Magazine's 2012 Story of the Year Readers Poll, behind tied-for-first-place Alethea Kontis and Katharine Duckett.

This has reminded me that I should make a post about the things I published in 2012. So here you go:

but just ask me if I'm complaining.

Sale! "A Night in Electric Squidland" is slated to appear in the June issue of Lone Star Stories.

I am a happy platypus.

New short story, "Imposters": 4,600 words

First line (currently): They were pulling out of the parking lot of St. Dymphna's Psychiatric Hospital when the radio crackled into life.

Third in the Ghoul Hunters series (although I'm trying to write the stories so that they all stand alone), so related to "Blue Lace Agate" and "A Night in Electric Squidland."

And now we let the story alone for a while, so it has a chance to settle. If you give it enough time, the dumb stuff floats to the top.
