"Stand By Me" by (RED)WIRE

This? Is amazing.

Stand By Me from David Johnson on Vimeo.

2. It's John M. Ford's birthday. Mike, wherever you are, I hope your birthday celebration is epic.

3. My gratitude. To everyone who reads my books. Everyone who buys a copy. Everyone who checks a copy out of the library. To everyone who blogs about my books or reviews them. Even if your review isn't positive, you're still taking the time to talk about my books, and I appreciate that. To every librarian who gets his/her library to buy my books. To every bookseller who hand-sells my books. To everyone who tells their friends to read my books or loans their copies out or buys my books as gifts. Seriously. I am deeply, deeply grateful to each and every one of you, and I feel like I really need to say that.

So, thank you. There are some really awful parts of being a writer, but you all are one of the things that make it worthwhile.

And we thank you for standing by us and finishing this series so quickly. So glad that Corambis is out!! ;-) Looking forward to more of your work, as you stand by us.

I accidentally* stayed up til 2.30 reading Corambis when I got it, when had work the next day. And then I did the same thing rereading it Thursday (once to find out what happens, twice to see how it happens, third time because you know what's going to happen and enjoy seeing it all come together).

I love reading and I read a huge amount, good, bad and indifferent, for different reasons and to get different things out of them.. Your books are ones that make me talky, that make me lend them to friends so we can talk about them. I like reading them again, dipping in to them or binging on them and having them in my head. So I don't know how much you'll get from this, but I have one paperback, three hardbacks and The Bone Key on my shelves or with (trusted!) friends, and in terms of cost to hours of enjoyment, they're one of the best investments I've made.

*At least, I mean, I only meant to dip in before I went to sleep, then I looked up and it was 2.30, but by that time I was close enough to the end that I figured I might as well finish.

I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who does the 3 times through thing!

Um, well, I'm on my re-read of "Corambis" too - and managed to read much longer last night than I'd planned to. I just could NOT stop. And it certainly won't be my last re-read, after all I read the other three books roughly five times each.
I'm also very glad to know I'm not the only one.

So, in response to # 3 - thank you so much for writing these amazing books, and for making me do silly things like reading way into the night, buying hardcover books, re-reading the books over and over again! I made my best friend read the books too, just to have someone to TALK to and she also loved them. My partner has read "Mélusine" and "The Virtu" and will read the other books at some point too.

In response to #3, I have to say thank you. For writing them, for providing hours of entertainment, for giving my husband and me things to talk about (our respective reading is something we can talk about for hours). So, again, thank you.

(Also? I am on page 16 of The Bone Key (which is, like, page 2 of the actual first story) and will be purchasing Corambis probably next month when finances loosen up a bit, 'cause I have loveloveloved The Doctrine of Labyrinths. So there.)

I just filled out a "request to purchase" form at my local library for Corambis. They're usually pretty good at buying requested books, and I hope it will get the book into a few more readers' hands.

I pre-ordered Corambis for myself from amazon months ago, but it hasn't shown up yet. Soon, I hope.

I got my copy (an early birthday present from a friend, who bought her own copy) of Corambis today.

I am not even a little ashamed that I jumped up and down and squeed like a little girl.

WRT #3, thank you so much for writing!!! I borrowed Melusine & The Virtu from my local library (I borrow everything from the library :) [and I've suggested Corambis for purchase] but I will definitely be buying the series! Books such as the ones you've written are 'keepers' without question :) I can't wait to read The Mirador!!!!

Question if I may please? While Amazon lists copies of Melusine, The Mirador and Corambis, I can't seem to find any copies of The Virtu. (It is listed as 'out of stock' in hardcover at Amazon.) I'm happy to buy the series in hardback (versus paperback) but...I'm one of those annoying people who has to have books in a series the same size :) Do you know if The Virtu is going to be re-released and, if so, in what format, or is that a question I should direct to your publisher? Thank you!

The Virtu is out of print in hardback, and that's unlikely to change, so your best bet is to try to find it remaindered or used. I'm sorry not to have a more satisfying answer.

Thank you :) It also seems to be out of print in paperback, which is just weird. I'll keep hunting!

That video really IS amazing. I loved it. Thanks for sharing! I have thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of your books that I have read. I appreciate the fact that not only do you share your gift with your fans, but you take the time to personally answer our emails and journal queries and the question and answer sessions were absolutely wonderful. While I can understand that you must be careful, I know that I and many others are grateful that you take the time and effort to keep in touch and show you care. Thanks!
